Impact100 Metro Detroit Invites Local Nonprofits to Apply for $120,000 Grant
Birmingham, MI., January 12, 2018 – Impact100 Metro Detroit is excited to announce the opening of its 2018 grant cycle. The organization will award a high-impact grant in the amount of $120,000 in May 2018 bringing its total collective giving to over $270,000 since launching its first grant in 2016.
“The grant is designed to have a major impact on the Metro Detroit area, the selected nonprofit, and the communities served,” said Amy Anger, president of Impact100 Metro Detroit. “Through collective giving, Impact100 Metro Detroit members and directors demonstrate leadership and comradery as they cultivate transformation together.
The window for grant applications is Jan. 12 – Feb. 9, 2018. The $120,000 grant, which is open to nonprofits headquartered and operating in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties, will be awarded in May at the organization’s Annual Awards Event.
Grant applications may be submitted online for projects in any in of the following focus areas: human services, education, arts and culture, environment, and urban revitalization. Applications should have a focus on serving residents of the tri-county area. However, residents outside of the tri-counties may also benefit.
Past recipients include The Empowerment Project in 2016 and Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program in 2017. With this major grant, both programs were able to expand the populations they serve, with The Empowerment Project moving to a bigger space and Downtown Boxing Gym adding more tutors to a one-on-one literacy program.
The 2018 grant amount was announced at Impact100 Metro Detroit’s annual Big Reveal Celebration event in Troy, Mich. on Jan. 12.
