Local nonprofits in Metro Detroit are encouraged to apply now to be eligible for one of two $100,000 grants to be awarded May 26, 2021!
Birmingham, Mich. – The women of Impact100 Metro Detroit announced yesterday at their 6th annual BIG REVEAL event, held virtually again this year, that their membership increased 25% for the 2021 grant year. Despite Covid-19 challenges, 252 women have donated $252,000 to be awarded to local nonprofits who serve Macomb, Oakland and/or Wayne counties. For the second year in a row, Impact100 Metro Detroit will award TWO $100,000 grants to local nonprofit heroes from Metro Detroit. And for the first time ever, the additional $52,000 will be distributed evenly to the remaining finalists.
Grant applications will be accepted from Jan 14, 2021 – Feb 12, 2021. Local nonprofits in Metro Detroit (Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties) can learn more about how to apply for the Impact100 Metro Detroit Grant at http://impact100metrodetroit.org/grants/application/. Grant proposals are fully vetted by members and include financial reviews and site visits. The grants will be awarded virtually at the annual award event appropriately named, THE BIG GIVE, on May 26, 2021. Prior to the event, each non-profit finalist will present their transformational grant proposal to Impact100 Metro Detroit members who will then vote for their top finalist. The TWO $100,000 Grant Award Winners will be announced at the event. “We are overjoyed at the growth of our membership during such a challenging year.” said Amy Bouque,
president, Impact100 Metro Detroit. “The women of Impact100 Metro Detroit are excited to learn more about the needs in our community through the grant review process. These diverse women have demonstrated an expansive dedication to our communities and know the rewards of collective giving go far beyond our high-impact grants.”
Across the country, Impact100 organizations empower women as philanthropists to pool their resources and deliver a greater impact to their community. Impact100 Metro Detroit, the first such group in Michigan, has experienced growth each year and will have given away over $860,000 since 2016. Each year, Impact100 members donate $1,000 toward a collective grant of $100,000, which is awarded to the nonprofit finalist(s) who receive the most member votes. Their mission is to fuel transformation in Metro Detroit by uniting women to support local nonprofit heroes and award high impact grants. Membership for their 2022 grant year is available now.
